Bengaluru, Oct 25 – 13‑year‑old Indian tennis star Srishti Kiran has reached the semifinals of the ITF Junior 30 (J30) event in Cabarete, the Dominican Republic. The tournament finished on Saturday, and the Bengaluru‑based player advanced after a 6‑2, 6‑4 win over host‑country competitor Daniela Esther Castillo Macario in the quarterfinals. Earlier she stunned the second‑seeded Russian, Arina Vansovich, to move into the last‑16.
Srishti trains with the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) and is fast becoming one of India’s brightest young talents. In India she is ranked No. 21 in the U‑14 girls’ list, showing steady improvement. Her international reputation grew when she stayed unbeaten for India during the 2023 Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) U‑12 Girls’ Team Championship, a win that also earned her a spot at Florida’s RPS Academy under coach Gabe Jaramillo.
Looking ahead, Srishti will play at the Junior Orange Bowl and the IMG Academy International Tennis Championships in Florida this year. She was also selected for the Asian under‑14 team under the International Tennis Federation’s (ITF) Grand Slam Player Development Programme (GSPDP). While training in the United States, she attended a three‑day camp in Paris before competing in France. Following that, she played more tournaments in France, then joined the Asian squad as they traveled to Germany and Belgium.
Srishti’s journey from Bengaluru to the world stage demonstrates India’s growing reputation as a source of world‑class tennis talent. Her active, confident style on the court continues to inspire younger players and fans alike.
