India’s national football team is gearing up for a crucial Asian Cup qualifier against Singapore on Oct. 9.
Head coach Khalid Jamil announced a 23‑player squad that will travel to Singapore for the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 qualifiers’ final‑round Group C clash.

- Date & time: Oct. 9, kick‑off at 17:00 IST
- Venue: National Stadium, Singapore
- Travel: The team leaves Bengaluru on the morning of Oct. 6 and arrives in the evening.
- Home game: India hosts Singapore on Oct. 14 at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, 19:30 IST.
India currently sits at the bottom of Group C with just one point from two matches, while Singapore leads the group with four points. The group‑winner secures a spot in the AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Coach’s message
Jamil stressed the importance of winning each game. “We’re not looking at the overall picture right now,” he said. “There are still four matches to play, and the next one against Singapore is what matters most. We need to focus on the present, not the future.”
Two squad members – goalkeeper Hrithik Tiwari and forward Muhammed Suhail – are kept in reserve for the home match on Oct. 14.
