India’s 17‑year‑old boxers keep winning a streak at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Manama, Bahrain. At Exhibition World Bahrain, the team has added four more victories this weekend, thanks to strong shows from Lamchemnba, Udham Singh and Anant Deshmukh, after Ahaana and Dhruv scored wins on Friday.

Lamchemnba started Saturday with a sharp 4‑1 win over a Filipino opponent, showing quick reflexes and solid control. Next, Udham Singh dominated a Thai boxer, winning every round 5‑0. Anant Deshmukh did the same against a Tajikistan fighter, completing a unanimous 5‑0 victory. The trio’s performances underline India’s depth and solid prep.

The previous day, Ahaana stopped Kyrgyzstan’s Amantaieva in the second round with a referee‑stop contest (RSC) after a flurry of punches. Dhruv also impressed, beating Kyrgyzstan’s Bakytbekov Alinur 4‑1 and moving on to the next round.

India’s 23‑member squad is fighting across 14 weight classes—seven boys and seven girls—in the U17 division. They trained hard at NS NIS Patiala under national coaches Vinod Kumar and Jitender Raj Singh before the Games.

The boxing action continues until October 30. The young pugilists aim to keep the winning rhythm and hit the podium in the rest of the tournament.

Earlier this week, Khushi Chand and Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari opened India’s campaign with big wins in the girls’ division. Khushi fought the Jordanian Reem Al‑Ramahi in the 46 kg category, taking all three rounds for a 5‑0 decision. Chandrika also advanced after a solid performance in her match.

The team’s first match was a special moment for Devendra Choudhary, who outclassed his opponent in the boys’ 75 kg pre‑quarterfinal, providing India with its first victory of the event.

India’s youth boxing squad remains focused, determined to stay on track for more medals and to strengthen ties to future international competitions.
