Bihar Elections 2025: Posters project Chirag Paswan as NDA’s CM face

Chirag Paswan’s Supporters Push Him as Bihar’s Next CM with ‘Kohinoor’ Poster Campaign

As the Bihar Assembly elections 2025 heat up, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) or LJP(RV) workers are ramping up efforts to promote their leader Chirag Paswan as the NDA’s top pick for Chief Minister. The young politician, known for his youth appeal, is gaining serious traction in Bihar politics.

On Tuesday, a bold poster popped up across Patna streets, hailing Chirag Paswan as the ‘Kohinoor of Bihar’ – a sparkling diamond for the state. Released by Imam Gazali, the Sheikhpura district president of LJP(RV), the poster features a catchy slogan: “Bihar Mange Chirag: Tan-Badan Ka Noor Hai, Chirag Bihar ka Kohinoor Hai.” It even shows Chirag wearing a king’s crown, signaling his fans’ strong push to see him in the CM’s chair.

Why the hype? Chirag’s stellar show in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has boosted his case. LJP(RV) fought on five seats and swept them all, giving the party real muscle in the NDA alliance. This win has party leaders demanding a solid share of Assembly seats this time around.

Take Arun Bharti, the Jamui MP and Chirag’s brother-in-law. He recently pointed out that in 2015, their party contested 43 seats under the Mahagathbandhan banner. Then, in 2020, after splitting from NDA, they went big with 137 seats. Bharti says LJP(RV) now eyes anywhere from 43 to 137 seats in Bihar Assembly elections 2025, based on talks with allies like BJP and JD(U).

The “Bihar Mange Chirag” drive isn’t just about seats – it’s Chirag’s smart move to brand himself as Bihar’s youth icon and a genuine CM contender in the NDA. His rising star could stir up tensions during seat-sharing negotiations, especially with heavyweights BJP and JD(U) who have long called the shots in Bihar politics.

Things are getting tricky for the NDA as elections near. Smaller allies are flexing their muscles too. For instance, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief and former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi has staked his claim for 20 Assembly seats. While that’s fewer than LJP(RV)’s ask, it adds pressure on BJP and JD(U) to juggle everyone without losing their edge.

With Bihar’s political buzz at fever pitch, keep an eye on how these NDA seat-sharing talks unfold – they could reshape the battle for power in the state.
