Maharashtra is gearing up for a major boost to Indian motorsport. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently watched as Racing Promotions Private Limited (RPPL) and the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) signed a key memorandum of understanding. This deal paves the way for the Indian Racing Festival’s (IRF) grand finale in December 2025.
For the first time, Mumbai will host its own FIA-grade street racing circuit. This night race in Navi Mumbai promises to put the city on the global motorsport map. Picture the streets lighting up under floodlights as top international and Indian drivers speed through a thrilling 3.753 km track with 14 challenging turns. It’s a fast, technical course that weaves past scenic spots like Nerul Lake, all against the glow of the city skyline.
Fans can expect an action-packed weekend with the Indian Racing League (IRL) and the FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC). The circuit kicks off at the famous Palm Beach Road and snakes through wide boulevards, testing drivers’ precision and strategy while giving spectators a front-row seat to high-speed excitement.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis welcomed the event with enthusiasm. “We are proud to bring the Indian Racing Festival to Navi Mumbai,” he said. “This Mumbai Street Race marks a historic step in Maharashtra’s motorsport journey. It will showcase our ability to host world-class events, boost tourism, and create jobs. Plus, it will inspire young racers and talent in engineering, technology, and event management. I applaud RPPL and all government teams for delivering an event that meets top international standards. This fits perfectly into Maharashtra’s goal to become a hub for global sports and cultural events.”
Akhilesh Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of RPPL, echoed the excitement. “With the strong support of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and NMMC, Mumbai is ready for an incredible motorsport spectacle,” he said. “As the city that never sleeps, it creates the perfect vibe for a night race. This 3.753 km FIA-grade street circuit will raise the bar for motorsport in India. Building on our successful street races in Chennai and Hyderabad, we’re elevating India’s racing legacy right in the heart of South Asia.”
The event isn’t just about speed—it’s blending glamour with action. Celebrity team owners will add star power, including Bollywood actor John Abraham (Goa Aces JA Racing), Arjun Kapoor (Speed Demons Delhi), cricket legend Sourav Ganguly (Kolkata Royal Tigers), Kannada star Sudeep Kichcha (Kichcha Kings Bengaluru), actor Naga Chaitanya (Hyderabad Blackbirds), and Dr. Swetha Sundeep Anand (Chennai Turbo Riders). Expect a mix of roaring engines, cheering crowds, and entertainment that makes this more than a typical race.
The Indian Racing Festival has already thrilled fans with street circuit races in Hyderabad and Chennai. This year’s season kicked off in Coimbatore and Chennai, with upcoming rounds in Coimbatore and Goa’s street circuit. Adding Mumbai to the mix takes the festival to new heights, helping build a lasting, world-class motorsport scene in India.
Come December, Navi Mumbai’s skyline will buzz with engine roars and fan energy, delivering a weekend where speed and spectacle collide.
