On Sunday, the 28th FMSCI National Racing Championship at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore closed in a burst of speed and drama. Fans saw new champions crowned across several classes, and the event put the city on the map for motorsport enthusiasts.
Dhruv Goswami takes the LGB Formula 4 title
Bengaluru‑based 18‑year‑old Dhruv Goswami (MSport) won both races on Sunday to claim the LGB Formula 4 crown. He entered the final weekend behind championship leader Diljith TS (Dark Don Racing) but turned the tables in the 20‑lap finale. Starting seventh on the reverse grid, Goswami seized the lead early, briefly ceded it to teammate Ruhaan Alva, then reclaimed it for a dominant finish. “It was going to be a long race, I knew I had to be patient,” he told reporters.
Rookie stars and senior class victories
Monith Kumaran Srinivasan of Ahura Racing captured the Rookie title in LGB Formula 4, while Bengaluru rider Anish Shetty sealed the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup title on Saturday and finished the season with another win.
FIA‑Certified Formula 4 Indian Championship highlights
The racing festival ran parallel with the FIA‑certified Formula 4 Indian Championship. South African driver Luviwe Sambudla earned his first season win in the opening race, and Kenya’s Shane Chandaria took the second. Indian star Ishaan Madesh narrowly beat Saishiva Sankaran for third, with teammate Ghazi Motlekar of Mozambique finishing second in the day’s second race. Frenchman Sachel Rotge of Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru finished third after a close battle.
JK Tyre Levitas Cup and Novice Cup outcomes
India’s newest single‑make series, the JK Tyre Levitas Cup, saw Balaji Raju win the Rookie crown by taking both races. Jay Prashanth Venkat dominated the Gentlemen class, cementing his status as a Coimbatore driving powerhouse. In the entry‑level JK Tyre Novice Cup, Lokithlingeash Ravi of DTS Racing from Pollachi claimed the title with a shootout victory in the final race.
The championship ended on a high note, with new talent emerging and local drivers proving their mettle on local tracks. Coimbatore’s Kari Motor Speedway has once again demonstrated why it’s a centerpiece of Indian motorsport.
