Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and chose to bat first. Openers Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub strode out, but things started rocky. Ayub fell for a duck on the second ball, bowled out early. Mohammad Haris stepped in and turned the tide, smashing boundaries and a massive six to reach his fifty in the 10th over. He anchored the innings with a quick 66 off 37 balls, helping Pakistan cross 50 in the seventh over.

But Oman’s bowlers struck back. Aamir Kaleem dismissed Farhan for 29 at 89 runs, then cleaned up Haris and skipper Agha in quick succession in the 13th over, leaving Pakistan at 102/3. Fakhar Zaman joined the fight, steadying the ship as the team hit 100 soon after. However, wickets kept tumbling—Hasan Nawaz fell for 9, Mohammad Nawaz for 19, and Faheem Ashraf in the final over. Pakistan finished at 160/7 in 20 overs, thanks to Haris’s fireworks.

Oman’s bowlers shone brightly in response. Shah Faisal grabbed 3/34 in four overs, while Aamir Kaleem took 3/31. Mohammad Nadeem chipped in with 1/23, keeping Pakistan’s total in check during the Asia Cup T20 action.

Chasing 161, Oman crumbled under Pakistan’s spin attack. Spinners snared six wickets for just 40 runs in 11 overs, with Abrar Ahmed sealing the win by dismissing Shakeel Ahmed for 10. Shaheen Afridi started tight, and Saim Ayub struck first, removing skipper Jatinder Singh for 1 in the second over. Aamir Kaleem followed for 13, LBW to Ayub.

Sufiyan Muqeem joined the party, getting Mohammad Nadeem for 3 after the powerplay. Sufyan Mehmood added just 1 before Mohammad Nawaz bowled him. Vinayak Shukla ran out for 0 thanks to a sharp throw from Afridi, and Hammad Mirza’s gritty 27 ended at the hands of Muqeem. By the 10th over, Oman slumped to 49/6.

Faheem Ashraf then dismissed Zikria Islam for a duck, Afridi got Shah Faisal for 1, and Ashraf wrapped it up by removing Hassnain Shah for 1. Oman folded in 16.4 overs, all out for 67. Muqeem starred with 2/7, while the Pakistan bowlers’ fiery energy set the tone for their upcoming India clash in the Asia Cup 2025.

Brief Scores: Pakistan 160/7 (20 overs) – Mohammad Haris 66, Sahibzada Farhan 29; Aamir Kaleem 3/31, Shah Faisal 3/34. Oman 67 all out (16.4 overs) – Hammad Mirza 27, Aamir Kaleem 13; Sufiyan Muqeem 2/7.
