Delhi’s Vinay Kumar Yadav and Noida’s Lakshya Nagar are leading after the first round of the sixth event of the PGTI NEXGEN season at Patna Golf Club. Both players scored impressive four-under 68, putting them at the top of the leaderboard.
Chandigarh’s Amrit Lal is close behind, finishing with a two-under 70, placing him third in the competition. The tournament takes place at the Patna Golf Estate, a nine-hole course with par 72. Players play the nine holes twice to complete each round.
Vinay Kumar Yadav played a fantastic round, thanks to his accurate shots and good putting. He made two birdies on the front nine with smart chip-putts and added two more on the back nine. One standout shot was his powerful drive on the Par-4 14th hole that ended up on the green, helping him score well.
Vinay, who works for Indian Railways, said, “I played solid golf today. I hit most of the fairways and greens, and I was confident with my chip-putts. I’ve been feeling good about my putting lately, and today I made some important putts at crucial moments.”
He also shared that his experience playing in previous Inter-Railways events at Patna Golf Club gave him an edge. “I know this course well, which helped me today. Good putting will be the key to doing well here,” Vinay added.
Lakshya Nagar also had a great day, carding seven birdies and three bogeys for a score of 68. He shared the lead with Vinay and showed strong performance on the course.
