Bengaluru Bulls grab a playoff spot with a 33‑23 win over Dabang Delhi K.C. in a Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 match at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
Alireza Mirzaian stole the show, scoring a Super 10 and topping the chart for raid points by an overseas player in the season. The Bulls’ defense also delivered, with Sanjay registering four tackles while Yogesh and Deepak each nailed three. The victory pushed Bengaluru to third on the points table.
Mohit Deswal was the best performer for Dabang, earning seven touch points and four tackle points, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Bulls on track.
The game began cautiously, with Dabang taking a three‑point lead early. Surjeet Singh made the first tackle before Aashish Malik broke the deadlock for Bengaluru, and the captain followed with a tackle of his own. The teams played a tight, do‑or‑die style in the first quarter, with the Bulls leaping ahead thanks to a strong defense and Mirzaian’s raid. By the 10‑minute mark the score was level at 6‑6.
In the first half the defenders dominated. Deswal added three tackle points, and Deepak Sankar chipped in with a couple. Akash Shinde opened the second side of the first half with a two‑point raid, giving Bengaluru a narrow 12‑10 edge when the break ended.
The second half saw Bengaluru build the lead. Mirzaian poured in points while the defense stayed solid. Sanjay’s tackle in the early minutes sparked an all‑out win for the Bulls, extending their advantage to seven. Heading into the final ten minutes, the Bulls held an eight‑point cushion and went on to score a Super Raid, further widening the gap.
Mohit tried to rally Dabang, pulling in eleven points and conceding an all‑out, but it was too late. The Bulls closed with a 33‑23 win, securing a playoff berth and cementing their spot in the top eight of PKL Season 12.
