Patna Pirates kept the crowd roaring as they swatted Dabang Delhi K.C. aside in a 61‑26 win on Oct. 23 at New Delhi’s Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium. The match gave the Pirates a 35‑point triumph – the biggest margin in this season’s Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) – and pushed them into a playoff spot.
With one game left, Patna will take on the Jaipur Pink Panthers in the final league‑stage tie.
Early buzz
Ayan lit the opening raid for Patna, giving the Pirates an early edge. Dabang Delhi answered quickly with Akshit’s slick raid, snapping the score to 1‑1. The Pirates rattled on, adding four consecutive points before Dabang Delhi’s defenders stepped up. By the end of the first quarter the teams were dead‑locked at 7‑7.
Second half dominance
Patna started the half with two back‑to‑back points, first from Ayan, then from Akshit’s mistake. By midway the Pirates held a 13‑8 advantage. Dabang Delhi’s Akshit cut the gap to 12‑15 with two points, but Ayan answered in the same breath, keeping Patna in front.
A series of All Outs by Patna pushed the lead to 19‑13. By halftime, the Pirates were comfortably ahead, 28‑14, a 10‑point cushion.
The finish
Navdeep’s tackle and Ayan’s raid added two more points, stretching the lead to 12 again. Then a powerful All Out made the score 39‑17. Ayan tallied a Super 10, while Milan Dahiya and Ankit Kumar kept piling on points. The Pirates reached 50 before the second stoppage. Dabang Delhi tried an aggressive Super Raid, but the gap stayed too wide.
With less than two minutes left, Patna sealed the win with a Super Tackle, ending the game at 61‑26. The Pirates’ display showed why they’re the team to beat in PKL season 12. They now look forward to their playoff showdown against the Jaipur Pink Panthers.
