PKL 12: Pawan Sehrawat backs new rule changes, stresses on team first approach for Tamil Thalaivas

Tamil Thalaivas captain Pawan Sehrawat is excited about the new changes in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). He believes that recent rule updates, like the Golden Raid and the tie-breaker system, will make matches more thrilling and competitive for fans.

Speaking during a Media Day organized by JioStar, Pawan shared his thoughts on these innovations. He said, “The tie-breaker rule is really interesting and good for kabaddi because it pushes players to improve their skills and go all-out on the mat.” He added that these new rules promote a “do-or-die” attitude, encouraging teams to avoid settling for draws and fight till the very end.

Pawan also talked about how his team, Tamil Thalaivas, is changing its strategy this season. Instead of relying on a single star raider, the team will be more flexible and adapt roles based on the situation. “As captain, I focus on who can perform best in each match. If I see Arjun Deshwal has an advantage against a certain defense, I’ll send him in. It’s all about teamwork and playing to our strengths,” he explained.

On a personal level, Pawan shared that he’s working on sharpening his existing skills rather than making big changes. “The player I am today is different from Season 3. New teammates bring new skills, and I learn from them. Improving takes time, and that’s what I’m focused on.”

When asked about upcoming matches, Pawan expressed confidence. “Every game is tough. No team is unbeatable. We prepare well, plan our attack and defense, and play according to the situation. Our team has both strengths, and we will execute our game plan to succeed.”

With a strong, balanced squad and confidence in the league’s evolving rules, Pawan Sehrawat and the Tamil Thalaivas are determined to make this PKL season memorable. Fans can look forward to exciting kabaddi action as these changes bring new energy into the sport.
