U Mumba crushed Gujarat Giants 40-25 in a thrilling Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 match on Thursday at the SDAT Multi Purpose Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Star raider Sandeep Kumar powered through with 16 points, while defenders Rinku and Sunil Kumar each notched High Fives to help their team climb to fourth place on the points table.

From the start, U Mumba grabbed control in the first half, building a 10-6 edge by the 10-minute mark. Both teams swapped empty raids early, but Gujarat’s Rakesh and Ankit Dahiya fought back with quick points. U Mumba countered strong, thanks to Ajit Chouhan and Amirmohammad Zafardanesh in attack, plus solid tackles from Sunil Kumar and Rinku that shut down the Giants’ pushes.

Sandeep Kumar stayed on fire from his last game, racking up five points from five raids right away. He took out key Gujarat players like Nitin Panwar and Mohammadreza Shadloui, keeping his side four points ahead. Even with Dahiya’s gritty efforts for the Giants, U Mumba’s mix of sharp raids and tough defense held firm.

Things got even better for U Mumba midway through the first half. They ramped up the pressure, with Sunil Kumar leading tackles that stopped Rakesh cold. When Gujarat brought in Parteek Dahiya for a boost, Lokesh and Zafardanesh shut him down fast.

Sandeep kept the raids coming and triggered an All Out around the ninth minute, wiping out Shadloui and Rohit Nandal in back-to-back moves. That blew the game open, sending U Mumba into halftime with a huge 23-11 lead and leaving Gujarat scrambling.

The second half kicked off with U Mumba pouring it on, stretching their advantage further. Gujarat made subs to fight back, but Rinku’s defensive heroics blocked every attempt. Sandeep stayed the star, dodging tackles and landing raid after raid.

Ajit Chouhan joined the fun in attack, picking off weak spots in Gujarat’s lineup. Another All Out hit the Giants hard, pushing U Mumba to a 33-16 lead by the ninth minute. The defense, sparked by timely tackles, made sure no comeback was in sight.

In the closing stretch, U Mumba owned the mat on both ends. Fresh Gujarat raiders couldn’t break through, as U Mumba’s defenders pounced every time. Sandeep teamed up with Anil and Ajit Chouhan for more key dismissals, while the Giants’ raids fizzled out empty.

U Mumba’s smart subs and steady play sealed the 15-point win, boosting their Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 campaign in style.
