Dabang Delhi Crushes Gujarat Giants in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 Thriller
In a dominating display at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Visakhapatnam, Dabang Delhi K.C. beat Gujarat Giants 38-28 on Thursday, wrapping up the Vizag leg of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12. Skipper Ashu Malik shone bright with 14 points, while Fazel Atrachali’s High Five in defense kept the unbeaten streak alive for the table-toppers.
Dabang Delhi took control early, leading 8-6 after 10 minutes. Ashu Malik and Ajinkya Pawar raided fiercely for five points, and Fazel Atrachali along with Sandeep Dhull locked down the defense. Ajinkya nailed key do-or-die raids, and Ashu Malik dismissed Shadloui to keep the pressure on the Season 8 champions.
Gujarat Giants fought back with Aryavardhan Navale grabbing three raid points and Rakesh adding a couple of strikes. But they missed chances in do-or-die moments and couldn’t turn empty raids into a lead, keeping the first phase tight.
Things shifted in the second half of the opening period. Sandeep Deswal tackled Rakesh, and Ashu Malik followed with back-to-back raids, taking out Shubham Kumar and Sumit. This left Giants with just Parteek Dahiya, whom Fazel Atrachali swiftly brought down for the all out.
From there, Dabang Delhi owned the first half. Shadloui couldn’t score, while Ashu Malik bounced back from a slow start with two multi-point raids, hitting his fifth straight Super 10. Ajinkya Pawar backed him up perfectly, sending the team into halftime with a solid 21-14 lead.
Post-break, another all out threatened Gujarat Giants after relentless raids from Dabang Delhi. Rakesh clawed back with a touch point on Surjeet Singh and even pulled off a super tackle when Ashu Malik slipped into the lobby.
But it was just a brief spark. The second all out hit before the third quarter ended, pushing the score to 31-21 with 10 minutes left. Shadloui kept struggling, Rakesh got tackled by Saurabh Nandal, Aryavardhan fell to Fazel, and Ashu Malik touched out Shadloui.
Parteek Dahiya sparked hope for Giants with a raid on Neeraj Narwal and a multi-point effort dismissing Surjeet and Sandeep. Yet, Dabang Delhi matched every move.
In the final moments, Fazel Atrachali sealed his High Five by tackling Parteek, while Shadloui finally got tackles on Ajinkya and Mohit. Too late, though—Ashu Malik’s leadership guided Dabang Delhi to a 10-point win and their fifth straight victory in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12.
