PKL 12: Vishwas leads the charge for Bengal Warriorz as they stun Tamil Thalaivas

Bengal Warriorz kept their title‑race hopes alive with a dramatic 44‑43 win over Tamil Thalaivas in New Delhi. The 12th season of the Pro Kabaddi League saw the Warriors rally from an early deficit and score eight points in the final minutes, thanks to strong raids by captain Vishwas S. (19 points) and veteran Himanshu Narwal (9 points).

The match was played at Thyagaraj Stadium on Tuesday. Arjun Deshwal sparked the opening of the game with a 20‑point haul, and he already racked up 200 raid points this season. Moein Shafaghi added eight points, but the Thalaivas’ lead slipped as the Warriors fought back.

The first quarter saw the Warriorz go ahead, but a defensive tackle by Nitesh Kumar and a two‑point raid from Deshwal flipped the momentum. By the end of the first 10 minutes, the Thalaivas were up 16‑8, with Deshwal hitting his second Super 10 of the match. The Warriors’ defense, led by Ankit, Sandeep Saini, and Phool Chandra, slowed the onslaught and the gap narrowed to six points by the half‑time whistle (22‑16).

Vishwas S. started the second half with a bold raid, re‑capturing his Super 10 and driving the Warriors into a favorable All‑Out. He quickly swung the lead to 25‑22 for Bengal. Deshwal and Shafaghi answered, but the Warriors stayed close and clawed back to a tie at 36‑36 thanks to multiple raids by Vishwas and Narwal.

In the closing minutes, Deshwal answered with a Super Raid that briefly gave Tamil Thalaivas a three‑point advantage. Himanshu Narwal then executed a decisive All‑Out, putting the Warriors ahead 38‑36. A final tackle by Phool Chandra sealed the deal, freezing the score as Bengal surged to an 8‑point finish – 44‑43.

The win not only gave Bengal a boost in the standings but also kept their playoff ambitions alive. For Tamil Thalaivas, the loss means tough fighting ahead remains essential to stay in the mix. The Pro Kabaddi League’s thrilling end to the day confirms that this season will remain a fighting competition for both sides.
