Mumbai, October 10 – At the 6th Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, Denmark’s investors and Copenhagen Fintech held a lively session on Green Fintech. The event brought together government officials, money‑makers, fintech founders and tech experts from India and Denmark to talk about how finance can help the planet.
The program opened with Danish Ambassador Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, who highlighted Denmark’s pledge to drive global sustainability through partnerships. He was followed by Ulrik Nødgaard, the governor of Danmarks Nationalbank, who explained how Denmark is weaving climate concerns into banking rules and policies.
Shri K. Rajaraman, chair of India’s International Financial Services Centres Authority, presented India’s vision for green and innovative finance. His remarks underscored that India is positioning itself as a major global financial hub while boosting sustainable practices.
During the fest, Invest in Denmark and Copenhagen Fintech launched a new report, Green Fintech – Denmark: Digital Solutions for a Sustainable Future. The study showcases powerful startups and tech clusters in both countries, urging more collaboration between Danish and Indian financial players. The report helps define how technology can meet climate goals in banking and finance.
The round‑table conversation covered five key areas: policy and regulation, industry, investors, startups and ecosystem support. Experts agreed that clear rules and strong policy signals are vital to bring private money into climate‑friendly financial products. They stressed that banks, corporates and fintechs must partner to boost low‑carbon models, create blended finance solutions and spark worldwide innovation.
Denmark’s participation in the fest signals the Nordic region’s ambition to be a leader in sustainable and tech‑driven finance. Denmark offers a stable business climate, expertise in ethical AI, quantum computing and cybersecurity, and expanding air links between Delhi, Mumbai and Copenhagen, making it an attractive destination for new ventures.
Copenhagen Fintech is the heart of Nordic fintech, supporting startups that work across ethical AI, green finance, digital inclusion and climate‑focused solutions. By linking global ecosystems, it helps Denmark keep its edge as a leader in sustainable financial innovation.
