Premier League: Guehi aims to stop Liverpool as Pedro leads Chelsea visit to Brighton

Get ready for a thrilling weekend of Premier League action, with rivalries heating up and key players making headlines. Liverpool takes on Crystal Palace on Saturday, facing a tough defender in Marc Guehi—the same guy they tried to sign over the summer. Guehi could have bolstered Liverpool’s backline, but now he’s got the job of stopping their star-studded attack. That includes big signings like Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike, all vying to play alongside Mohamed Salah. Palace already shocked Liverpool in the season-opening Community Shield back in August and hasn’t lost a match yet this season, so expect fireworks.

Kicking things off early, Brentford hosts Manchester United on Saturday. The Bees are still adjusting after losing key players and coach Thomas Frank in the summer transfer window. Man United, meanwhile, misses suspended midfielder Casemiro following his red card against Chelsea last week. But this match gives Ruben Amorim’s Red Devils a shot at building momentum after a rocky start to the campaign.

Over on the south coast, Chelsea heads to Brighton, a team that’s cashed in big by selling stars like them to Stamford Bridge over the years. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has injury doubts over Liam Delap and Cole Palmer, plus goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is out with a suspension from last week’s drama. Still, former Brighton forward Joao Pedro should start up front as the Blues aim to rebound from their loss at Old Trafford.

Manchester City looks to get back on track when Burnley visits. City dropped points with a late equalizer in their Arsenal clash last weekend, and Pep Guardiola switched tactics on the fly—don’t be surprised if he tweaks things again. Their defense will face a test from hot-shot duo Phil Foden and Erling Haaland, who keep delivering goals.

Bournemouth travels to face Leeds United, riding high in the table with Andoni Iraola’s high-energy style. Leeds just grabbed a huge away win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, so this could be a real battle of form teams.

Wolves, stuck at the bottom after five straight losses, head to third-placed Tottenham. New Wolves manager Victor Pereira, fresh off signing a contract extension, faces a steep challenge against Spurs, who stay solid under Thomas Frank even with some injury woes.

Nottingham Forest earned praise for their 2-2 Europa League draw away to Betis on Wednesday, but new coach Ange Postecoglou still hunts for his first league win. They host Sunderland at the City Ground next—can they finally get that victory?

Aston Villa rides European momentum from midweek and now targets their first Premier League win of the season against Fulham, with Unai Emery pushing his squad forward.

Arsenal faces a tricky trip to Newcastle United, but good news—they might welcome back Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard from injury. Finally, on Monday, West Ham welcomes Everton in a matchup loaded with subplots. Hammers boss Graham Potter could feel the heat if they slip up, especially against Everton under David Moyes, who left West Ham just 16 months ago after guiding them to ninth place. Keep an eye on these Premier League fixtures for all the drama!
