Exciting Wins Shake Up Punjab Hockey League U21 Standings on Day Six

Hey hockey fans, things are heating up at the Punjab Hockey League U21! On day six of the second edition, teams delivered some thrilling action at the Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium in Mohali. Roundglass Hockey Academy and Sports Authority of India National Centre of Excellence (SAI Sonipat) grabbed big wins to stay on top, while Naval Tata Academy climbed to third with a nail-biter. First up, Roundglass Hockey Academy crushed SDAT Hockey Academy from Tamil Nadu 10-3 in a total domination. SDAT struck first through S. Vishal in the third minute, but Roundglass fired back quickly with goals from Gursewak Singh and Japnit Singh to take the lead in the opening quarter. They poured on four more in the second quarter – Jobanpreet Singh, Sukhmanpreet Singh, Gurwinder Singh, and Varinder Singh all found the net. SDAT fought back with strikes from S. Krishnan and M. Sugumar, but Gurwinder Singh added another to seal the deal. In the final quarter, Roundglass tacked on three more goals from Jobanpreet Singh, Japnit Singh, and Prince Singh. What a powerhouse performance!

The day’s real thriller came when Naval Tata Academy from Jamshedpur edged out SGPC Hockey Academy from Amritsar 4-3. Tintus Hemrom scored twice early to give Naval Tata a 2-0 lead before halftime. SGPC pulled one back with Harwinder Singh’s goal right at the end of the second half. Then, Ashish Tani Purti netted a brace in the third quarter, pushing the score to 4-1. SGPC made a late comeback in the fourth with goals from Harwinder Singh and Diljeet Singh, but Naval Tata hung on for the vital win and jumped to third place.

In another goal-fest, PIS Surjit Hockey Academy from Jalandhar smashed Ghumanhera Risers Hockey Academy from New Delhi 7-1, marking their third win in the league. Abhishek Gorkhi bagged a brace, while Charanjeet Singh, Manroop Singh, Karan Singh, Ajaypal Singh, and Navdeer Kumar chipped in with the others. Prikshit got the lone goal for Ghumanhera Risers as a small consolation.

Meanwhile, SAI Sonipat also notched a strong victory over Namdhari Hockey Academy, helping them hold second spot.

After these Punjab Hockey League U21 results, here’s the updated points table:
