In Jaipur on Oct. 17, the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) hit another headline as its ad hoc committee split over who gets to make decisions. The clash now reaches the Lokpal, the anti‑corruption watchdog.
Convener DD Kumawat defends himself
When accused of acting alone, Kumawat said, “If the corruption charges against me are proven, I will resign and leave on my own.” He insists the meeting that sparked the outcry was called by people without authority. “I received the notice only last night by e‑mail. A High Court order has already suspended those who called the meeting,” he told reporters.
Critics call out unilateral ruling
Dhananjay Singh Khinvsar, a committee member, said Kumawat skipped Friday’s meeting and made decisions by himself, violating the rule that all four members must consent. “DD Kumawat had no right to disqualify the Jodhpur District Cricket Association,” Khinvsar told the press. “No official meeting happened for the last three‑and‑a‑half months. Now the law is being broken.”
Khinvsar was joined by Ashish Tiwari and Pinkesh Jain at the press conference. He added that one of the three attendees was suspended, making the meeting invalid.
Impact on the state’s cricket
The quarrel has stalled key decisions, delayed upcoming tournaments, and left players uncertain about their future. The ad hoc committee remains at odds over who can appoint the ombudsman or choose the selection committee’s composition.
Where it stands
The Lokpal is investigating the corruption allegations. Kumawat said he will comply with the investigation and will speak only after the findings. For now, the RCA’s internal discord threatens to disrupt cricket across Rajasthan.
