India’s cricket fans are buzzing with excitement as the team heads into the T20 Asia Cup 2025 final against rivals Pakistan. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla gave a big thumbs up to the Indian squad for their unbeatable run in the tournament, saying he’s sure they’ll grab the title.

The high-stakes showdown kicks off on September 28 at Dubai International Stadium. This marks the first time in the Asia Cup’s 41-year history that India and Pakistan will battle it out in the final. India has already beaten Pakistan twice this edition—once in the group stage and again in the Super 4s—staying undefeated throughout.

Shukla highlighted the team’s strong mix of players. “Our team has performed brilliantly in the #AsiaCup2025. The team has a good combination. I am very confident that we will be the Asia Cup Champions and lift the Cup. Best wishes to Team India,” he told .

In their group stage clash, India cruised to a seven-wicket win over Pakistan, powered by Kuldeep Yadav’s stellar spell of 3/18 that wrecked the opposition’s batting. Then, in the Super 4s, Abhishek Sharma stole the show with a explosive 74 off just 39 balls, helping India secure a six-wicket victory.

Abhishek Sharma has emerged as India’s top batter in the Asia Cup 2025. He smashed his third straight fifty against Sri Lanka in their last Super Four match on Friday, blasting 61 runs off 31 balls with eight fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 196.77. He truly bashed the bowlers all around the park.

On the bowling front, Kuldeep Yadav has shone bright, using his clever variations to trick batters. He leads the wicket-takers chart with 13 scalps in six matches, keeping an economy rate of 6.05.

India’s squad for the tournament features Suryakumar Yadav as captain, alongside Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Jitesh Sharma, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson, Harshit Rana, and Rinku Singh. All eyes are on this India vs Pakistan final—could it be another classic?
