Rangers have named former Sheffield Wednesday coach Steve Rohl as their new manager. The appointment came after the club’s search for a leader who can rebuild the squad and bring fresh tactics back to Ibrox.
Rohl left Wednesday in 2023 and brought a track‑record of improving young squads. His experience in the English Championship and his forward‑thinking style were key reasons Rangers chose him. The club’s board said they want a manager who will bring “energy, discipline and ambition” to the team.
“I’ve seen how Steve can develop talent and turn a team into a competitive unit,” said Rangers chairman. “He’ll help us aim for the top of the Scottish Premiership and regroup for next season.”
Rangers will face immediate challenges. The team is recovering from a mid‑season slump and needs to strengthen midfield and attack. Rohl is expected to make early signings during the January transfer window.
The new manager’s first game will be against Rangers’ local rivals, giving him a chance to prove his style to fans and the press. Fans are hopeful that Rohl’s arrival will spark a new era of success for Rangers in Scottish football.
