Real Madrid kept its flawless start in La Liga alive with a dominant 4-1 victory over newly promoted Levante on the road. The Spanish giants jumped ahead early, thanks to stunning strikes from Vinicius Jr. and Franco Mastantuono in the 27th and 37th minutes, securing a 2-0 halftime lead.
Levante pulled one back just after the break when Etta Eyong headed in a goal in the 53rd minute. But Real Madrid quickly bounced back, with Kylian Mbappe converting a penalty in the 63rd minute to make it 3-1. Mbappe wasn’t done yet—he added another goal two minutes later, sealing the three points for the visitors.
Fresh off the win, Madrid coach Xabi Alonso praised his team’s all-around effort. “We were totally locked in on this game and what’s next,” he said. “Vini was huge out there, making key plays and showing his class. Now we’ll gear up for the derby starting tomorrow.”
In another exciting La Liga clash, Villarreal grabbed a 2-1 win at Sevilla, snatching the points with a late winner. Tani Oluwaseyi opened the scoring for Villarreal in the 16th minute, controlling much of the first half. Djibril Sow leveled things up for Sevilla in the 50th minute, and the hosts pushed hard for a winner. But Manor Solomon struck on a quick counter in the 85th minute, giving Villarreal the edge.
Earlier matches delivered thrills too. Athletic Bilbao and Girona battled to a 1-1 draw at San Mames. Girona struck first in the ninth minute, with Azzedine Ounahi’s shot bouncing in off the crossbar’s underside. Bilbao responded strongly after halftime changes, as Mikel Jauregizar unleashed a rocket from outside the box in the 48th minute to tie it.
Down in Barcelona, Espanyol fought back twice for a dramatic 2-2 draw against Valencia at home. Arnaut Danjuma gave Valencia the lead in the 15th minute, but Leandro Cabrera equalized for Espanyol in the 59th. Hugo Duro put Valencia back ahead just three minutes later, only for Javi Puado to rescue a point with a stoppage-time goal in the 96th minute—denying Valencia back-to-back wins.
These La Liga results shake up the early standings, with Real Madrid leading the pack and teams like Villarreal climbing fast. Fans are already buzzing about the upcoming derbies and more high-stakes matchups.
