South Africa’s cricket fans have some changes to cheer for this summer. The Proteas’ home T20I series against the West Indies is now down to three matches from the original five, all thanks to scheduling conflicts with the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) made the update after the International Cricket Council (ICC) locked in the dates for the global T20 tournament. The series, originally set to wrap up on February 6, will now end on January 31. That date lines up with the start of the support period for the T20 World Cup, when teams begin arriving at venues for practice sessions ahead of their campaigns.
The three T20Is will bring plenty of excitement. The opener happens on January 27 at Boland Park in Paarl, followed by the second match on January 29 at SuperSport Park in Centurion. The finale on January 31 at the Wanderers in Johannesburg marks a special Pink Day. On that day, South Africa will wear pink jerseys to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer treatment—a tradition fans love supporting.

South Africa’s busy home season doesn’t stop there. The country will also host India’s U19 team for a three-match Youth ODI series against the South Africa U19 side. These games run from January 3 to 7 at Willowmoore Park in Benoni, giving young talents a chance to shine.
