Tejashwi Yadav Slams Nitish Kumar’s Bihar Government Over Rising Crimes and Corruption
In a fiery speech in Patna, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav took a strong stand against the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar. He pointed to two shocking murders—one in Patna and another in Khagaria—that happened within just 24 hours, highlighting the worsening law and order situation in the state.
Talking to reporters on Friday, Yadav painted a grim picture of Bihar under NDA rule. "The streets of Bihar are soaked in blood," he said. "Murders are happening left, right, and center. In Khagaria, the driver of our RJD MLA was shot dead last night. And just before that, an RJD leader was killed in Patna. The government is fast asleep while organized crimes keep rising. These attacks are being planned right from the Deputy Chief Minister’s home. Criminals now call themselves Samrat and Vijay," he alleged, taking a direct dig at Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha.
Yadav didn’t stop there. He also called out the rampant corruption gripping Bihar’s administration. "We’re finding crores of rupees hidden in engineers’ homes," he claimed. "From police stations and block offices to the top levels of bureaucracy, corruption has spread everywhere."
The RJD leader was especially upset with Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary’s comments on a murder in Raghopur. Choudhary had linked the killing to political gains, which Yadav called "dirty and shameful." "A man is dead, and instead of seeking justice, the Deputy CM is talking about who benefits politically? People like him don’t deserve to hold such a high post," Yadav fired back. He even challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, "If he’s so worried about Raghopur, let the PM come and contest against me himself."
On the ongoing row over an AI-generated video posted by Congress—which NDA leaders say insults mothers—Yadav brushed off the BJP’s outrage. "I haven’t watched it, but they’re just trying to divert attention from real problems like crime, corruption, and unemployment in Bihar," he said. "The BJP has insulted women far worse. Remember how PM Modi spoke against Sonia Gandhi or mocked Nitish Kumar’s DNA? That’s the real abuse."
Looking ahead, Yadav announced plans for a new yatra in Bihar. "We’ll now visit the 16 districts we missed in our Voter Adhikar Yatra. This will help us connect with people in those areas," he shared, signaling RJD’s push to address local issues.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP chief JP Nadda gear up for visits to Bihar, Yadav called them out too. "They’re coming now because elections are around the corner. But once the polls are done, they’ll forget Bihar again," he quipped.
Yadav’s sharp words come at a tense time for Bihar politics, with law and order and corruption topping voter concerns ahead of the upcoming elections.
