The 64th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament for Junior Boys under 17 kicked off its third day with non-stop thrills in New Delhi. Young players from across India and beyond showed off their skills in matches packed with big wins, narrow escapes, and heart-pounding draws. This youth football event keeps drawing crowds with its raw energy and top-notch talent.
Jayshree Periwal International School from Rajasthan dominated Rashtriya Military School with a solid 5-0 win. Nubaid opened the scoring in the 21st minute, followed by Somneel just before halftime at 45′. Parakaram added two quick goals in the 60th and 65th minutes, and Vansh wrapped it up in the 70th. It was a clean sheet and a strong statement for the ISSO boys.
Government Senior Secondary School from Lakshadweep kept their winning streak alive, smashing The Air Force School 6-1. Star player Shameel stole the show with an incredible four goals in the 29th, 41st, 46th, and 50th minutes. Raiz chipped in with one at the 34th, while TAFS managed a reply through Amir in the 18th. An own goal by Arav in the 52nd minute made it even tougher for them.
In a tense battle, North Liberty Higher Secondary School from Meghalaya grabbed a 1-0 victory over Mamta Modern Senior Secondary School from Delhi. Lyndoh’s early strike in the 9th minute proved enough to secure the points.
Farook Higher Secondary School from Kerala edged out Ram Krishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyapeeth from Chhattisgarh 1-0. Jasheer delivered the decisive goal in the 25th minute, keeping their defense rock-solid.
The highlight of the day? ASC Centre Army Boys Company crushed Telangana Government Sports School 18-0 in a total rout. Viaphal was unstoppable, bagging seven goals in the 24th, 26th, 32nd, 33rd, 35th, 35+2′, and 70th minutes. Henary matched him with seven of his own in the 35th, 38th, 43rd, 45th, 51st, 60th, and 61st. Bikendra scored twice at 9′ and 47′, and Kerin added a brace in the 22nd and 23rd. What a goal-fest!
Government Higher Secondary School from Arunachal Pradesh fell 1-2 to Guru Govind Singh Sports College from Uttar Pradesh. Degio gave Arunachal hope with a 25th-minute goal, but Khan replied soon after in the 28th, and Ashutosh sealed it for UP in the 58th.
An action-packed draw saw Sri Lanka School Football Association tie 2-2 with Chowbaga High School from West Bengal. Zabith scored for Sri Lanka in the 22nd, and Ibrahim equalized just before halftime at 35+2′. Abhishek hit back with goals for West Bengal in the 20th and 58th minutes.
Finally, Kamla Devi Public School from Madhya Pradesh beat Tashi Namgyal Academy from Sikkim 3-1. Adil netted twice in the 17th and 51st minutes, with Gaurav adding one in the 22nd. Lakpa pulled one back for IPSC in the 21st.
