Bangladesh’s Jamal Hossain grabbed a commanding four-shot lead after the third round of the Telangana Golconda Masters 2025, putting him in prime position to claim the INR 1 crore prize at the Hyderabad Golf Association course. The 40-year-old from Dhaka fired a stellar six-under 64 on a windy Thursday, pushing his total to an impressive 23-under 187. He’s now led the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) event for three straight days.
Jamal, a five-time PGTI winner, stayed nearly flawless with seven birdies and just one bogey—his first of the tournament on the ninth hole after a wayward tee shot. He bounced back strong, nailing birdies from 25 feet and 40 feet early on, and even drove the green on the par-4 14th. “I hit a ton of greens in regulation today—my tee shots and approaches were on point,” Jamal said. “I kept errors to a minimum for the third day in a row, except for that bogey. It was super windy, so I’m proud of how I handled it.” Looking ahead, he added, “Now it’s about keeping this rhythm going into the final round and building on what’s worked. I’ve been runner-up twice this season, so those lessons should help. I’m sitting 14th on the 2025 PGTI Order of Merit, and this feels like my shot.”
Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 65, holding second place for the third day running at 19-under 191. The gap between him and the rest of the field widened on this tough day, which saw strong winds and a light drizzle in the final 30 minutes of play.
Bengaluru’s Khalin Joshi climbed one spot to third with a solid 66, totaling 13-under 197. Sharing fourth at 12-under 198 were Delhi’s Shaurya Bhattacharya and Gurugram’s Manu Gandas, both carding 64s. Delhi’s Arjun Prasad, who’s second on the PGTI merit list, fired back-to-back 65s to jump two places into sixth at 11-under 199.
The round’s hot shot belonged to Chandigarh’s Vishav Pratap Singh Gill, who blazed a nine-under 63 to surge 28 spots and land in seventh at nine-under 201. Among local Hyderabad players, Vishesh Sharma shone brightest with a 67, tying for 22nd at five-under 205.
With one round left in this exciting PGTI golf tournament in Hyderabad, all eyes stay on Jamal as he chases his next big win.
