Auctions close in Mumbai

On October 9, eight franchises will join the auction in Mumbai to build squads around marquee players. The auction promises to be fierce, as teams look to secure the best talent for a week of thrilling tennis.

Star‑lined rosters

  • Rohan Bopanna – The two‑time Grand Slam champion will carry the SG Pipers Bengaluru banner in his second TPL appearance. At 45, Bopanna still claims the record for the oldest player to win both a Grand Slam and an ATP Masters 1000 event.

  • Luciano Darderi (World No 29, Italy) will represent the Rajasthan Rangers. Darderi’s recent form makes him a key acquisition for the team.

  • Corentin Moutet (World No 38, France) and Alexandre Muller (World No 39, France) will play for the Gurgaon Grand Slammers and Gujarat Panthers, respectively. Both bring experience and flair to the league.

  • Arthur Rinderknech (World No 54, France) joins the Hyderabad Strikers, adding depth to the playing roster.

  • Damir Dzhumhur (World No 67, Bosnia and Herzegovina) will lead the Yash Mumbai Eagles. Former world No 23, Dzhumhur is an experienced competitor on the ATP circuit.

  • Tomas Martin Etcheverry (World No 58, Argentina) will play for the GS Delhi Aces, while Dalibor Svrcina (World No 91, Czech Republic) adds his promising talent to the Chennai Smashers.

Legends and celebrities back the league

The TPL benefits from the support of tennis icons Leander Paes, Sania Mirza, and Mahesh Bhupathi—who serves as the CEO of SG Pipers. Bollywood stars Rakul Preet Singh and Sonali Bendre Behl also lend their fan bases to the league, helping to boost attendance and viewership.

What the founders say

Co‑founder Kunal Thakkur highlighted the global draw: “We have world‑class names like Darderi, Moutet, and Muller alongside our own Grand Slam champion Bopanna. Their presence lifts the competition level and inspires India’s next generation of tennis players.”

Co‑founder Mrunal Jain added, “The international lineup shows TPL’s worldwide appeal. Mixing global stars with Indian talent guarantees fans an exciting season right from the auction to the final match.”

Leander Paes, the brand ambassador for the GS Delhi Aces, praised the franchise format: “TPL is one of India’s best sporting properties. Season 7 will deliver the most exciting tennis, with world‑class players performing alongside India’s top stars. I’m excited to see how the auction shapes the teams.”

Looking ahead

With eight franchises—GS Delhi Aces, SG Pipers Bengaluru, Gurgaon Grand Slammers, Chennai Smashers, Yash Mumbai Eagles, Hyderabad Strikers, Gujarat Panthers, and Rajasthan Rangers—TPL Season 7 promises a week packed with top‑tier tennis, enthusiasm, and unforgettable moments.

Fans can mark their calendars for December 9–14, 2025, and get ready for a tennis spectacle that blends local flair with global talent. The auction on October 9 will reveal the final team lineups, setting the stage for an electrifying season in Ahmedabad.
