Australia’s star wicket‑keeper and captain Alyssa Healy won the toss for the 13th time‑table encounter in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 and chose to bowl first against India. The match was played at the ACA‑VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, a venue that has hosted Indian cricket since 2011.

Both teams have already played three matches in the tournament. Australia is in second place with two wins and a no‑result, while India sits third with two wins and one loss. England remains top of the standings after beating Sri Lanka on Saturday, continuing a winning streak in the Cup.

“I was handed the ball at the toss and decided we would go out to bowl,” said Healy. “The pitch was dew‑heavy after yesterday’s training, so we expect the ball to swing in the first over. We’re just keeping the same core of our XI. Sophie Molineux is back and we didn’t pick Wareham this time. The vibe here in Vizag is electric, and the Australian fans are cheering us on. It’s our first visit since 2011, and we’re ready to give it all for the win.” Healy’s confidence reflected the promise of a tense showdown.

Calling the toss, India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur praised the surface. “The pitch feels better than we had in our last game, and it’s our usual squad. Results can swing either way, but we always learn and bounce back,” she said. “We battle on the field for 95 overs, and the support from fans is the biggest part of our lives.”
