Visakhapatnam, Oct 12 – In a high‑scoring thriller at the ACA‑VDCA Stadium, Australia clinched a crucial Women’s World Cup win over India. Captain Alyssa Healy smashed a record‑breaking 142 off 107 balls, the biggest score ever against India in ODIs. The match finished three wickets to spare, with Australia posting 331/7.

Healy’s explosive innings featured 21 fours and three sixes. She made her third World Cup century and her first ODI hundred since January 2025, giving Australia an easy chase of 331. Australia’s bowlers, led by Annabel Sutherland, contained India in the final overs, while Sutherland’s 5‑40 kept the hosts from building on a powerful 155‑run opening stand.

India, after a strong start from openers Smriti Mandhana (80) and Pratika Rawal (75), collapsed in the last five overs, falling 330 all out in 48.5 overs. Despite a 192/1 lead at 30 overs, the Indians lost nine wickets for 138 runs in the chase. India’s wickets fell in quick succession – Shree Charani, Amanjot Kaur, and Deepti Sharma all took key breakthroughs.

Australia’s chase was guided by a solid 89‑run partnership between Healy and Phoebe Litchfield, then a 45‑run stand with Ashleigh Gardner. Ellyse Perry returned after a short break from cramps and steadied the innings, finishing unbeaten on 47. She capped the victory with a six off the last ball of the 49th over.
