Australia’s women’s cricket team ran away with a 10‑wicket win over Bangladesh in Visakhapatnam, securing a spot in the semi‑finals of the World Cup. The victory is the toughest Australia has shown so far in the tournament and keeps the side at the top of Group A with nine points after five matches.

Bangladesh set Australia a target of 199, a challenge the Aussies answered with an unbeaten 202‑run partnership between Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield. The run‑scoring duo delivered the second‑best partnership of any wicket against Bangladesh in world‑cup history, helping Australia clinch the win and lock in their semi‑final place.

Healy praised her teammates after the game. “Phoebe was outstanding,” she said. “We played with professionalism and earned the two points. We’ll come back ready for the next match.” She also highlighted Alana King’s 2‑for‑18 spell, calling it “amazing” and pointing out that King deserves the Player of the Match award. “We’re great when players arrive and step up, like Darcie Scott’s pace,” Healy added.

“I’m always disappointed when my glove work was off, but I made up for it with the bat,” Healy noted. “It was a tough game, but we still got the points.” The Australian captain remains confident as the team prepares for a new challenge.

Australia will meet England in the semi‑final at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on 22 October. “We’re heading to a new venue, Indore,” Healy said. “Playing against England is a fresh challenge for us, but we’re ready.”

With the World Cup in full swing, Australia’s dominant performance against Bangladesh sets up an exciting clash with England and keeps fans on the edge of their seats.
