Actor-politician Vijay revises statewide tour; TVK to cover more TN districts right into 2026

Actor Vijay, the founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), just announced big changes to his Tamil Nadu tour. He’s adding Sundays to his schedule—previously only Saturdays—and stretching it all the way into early 2026. This move shows his commitment to connecting with people at the grassroots level as he gears up for his first big political challenge.
Vijay kicked off his statewide tour on September 13 in Ariyalur, part of Tiruchirappalli district. The first phase wrapped up on September 20 in Nagapattinam and Thiruvarur. What started as a plan to end by December 20 now covers almost every major district in Tamil Nadu and even Puducherry.
Check out the updated lineup: On September 27, Vijay heads to Namakkal and Karur. October brings stops in Vellore and Ranipet on the 5th, Puducherry and Cuddalore on the 11th, Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli on the 18th, and Tiruppur and Erode on the 25th.
November keeps the momentum going with Perambalur and Kallakurichi on the 1st, Krishnagiri and Tirupattur on the 8th, Villupuram and Thiruvannamalai on the 15th, Salem and Dharmapuri on the 22nd, and Thanjavur and Mayiladuthurai on the 29th.
In December, expect visits to Pudukottai and Dindigul on the 7th, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram on the 13th, and Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram on the 20th. Early 2026 will take him to Madurai, Theni, Kanyakumari, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Chengalpattu, and finally Chennai.
TVK insiders say this expansion helps build a solid presence in every district and fires up party workers ahead of the next Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Vijay launched TVK earlier this year after diving into politics full-time. His entry has created huge excitement, drawing massive crowds to early meetings as a fresh option against the big Dravidian parties like DMK and AIADMK.
Fans know Vijay from his blockbuster films, where he often tackles social issues. Now, he’s putting that into action with TVK’s focus on change, fighting corruption, and empowering youth. Political experts point out that the longer tour lets him rally support and tackle real problems—like jobs, farming challenges, and city development—across the state.
This isn’t just star power; it shows TVK aiming to stick around as a serious force in Tamil Nadu politics. Party leaders call it the start of a deeper, long-haul effort to engage communities.
