New Delhi, Nov 6 – Voting began today for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, covering 18 districts. Voters poured into polling stations across the state, showing a mix of excitement and hope for better development.
“It felt great to cast my ballot,” said a first‑time voter who remained on the record but requested anonymity. “I was a bit nervous at first, but after voting I felt proud to help Bihar grow. People often look at our state badly, and we want leaders who focus on education and other issues so Bihar can step out of that shadow.”
Another resident emphasized basic needs: “Education has to be good. If we build factories, jobs will follow, and that will drive overall growth. We’re seeing roads and bridges, but what we truly need is strong education for our children.”
Some voters pointed to progress in women’s empowerment and public services. “Our sisters now get good schooling and can join in activities,” said one woman. “The government is providing financial aid and building hospitals, so we’re already seeing change. What more could we demand?”
A group of voters expressed a desire for leaders dedicated to development and peace. “We’ll vote for those who actually build and protect a stable future,” one said. “Caste politics is fading in Bihar, and we want leaders who’ll keep us safe.”
The election authority turned the Ara Krishi Bhavan polling booth into a green voting centre, encouraging voters to adopt eco‑friendly practices. Across the state, people of all ages, including women, youth, and the elderly, turned out in large numbers. In Union Minister Giriraj Singh’s constituency, turnout was especially high, and voters were keen on development and employment as key priorities.
A voter summed up the mood: “I’m here to vote and I want to tell everyone that the right to vote is ours. Use it, because that will shape our future.”
With strong enthusiasm at booths, the first day of the Bihar Assembly elections looks set to be a decisive indicator of public participation in the state’s democratic process.
