Kolkata –
West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee marked the anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s Azad Hind Government by paying tribute to Bose and the soldiers of the Indian National Army (INA).
In a short message on social media, she said, “Today marks the anniversary of the formation of the Azad Hind Government. My heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers of the Indian National Army who fought valiantly for India’s freedom under the leadership of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.”
She kept her post neutral on politics, but shared another update about a familiar celebration at her home. Mamata described how she celebrated Kali Puja inside her South Kolkata residence on Monday night – a tradition that has given her strength over the years. She said faith in Goddess Kali has helped her stay courageous and compassionate during difficult moments.
“I pray for peace, health and happiness for all people of West Bengal,” she added.
Mamata also urged that the light of Maa Kali protect everyone from darkness and bring hope.
The Chief Minister’s post comes amid fresh political tensions. Her party, the Trinamool Congress, is dealing with a dispute over the Election Commission of India’s upcoming Special Intensive Revision in West Bengal and several corruption allegations.
Mamata ended her post by thanking everyone who joined the Kali Puja celebrations. She wished continued peace and harmony for West Bengal and the rest of India.
