In Jaipur, Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma spoke at the Sanganer Camp Office on Thursday about the impact of Acharya Shri Sundar Sagar Ji Maharaj. He praised the saint for enlightening society with teachings of knowledge and non‑violence, describing his life as a remarkable blend of sacrifice, penance, and compassion.
Sharma emphasized the state government’s priority of protecting and fostering all faiths while urging residents to not just listen to the spiritual lessons of Jain monks but to weave those principles into everyday actions. “Jain monks live by deep spiritual discipline,” he said, “giving up worldly pleasures to follow a path of renunciation.”
He highlighted that Acharya Shri Sundar Sagar Ji Maharaj’s example shows that true greatness comes from humility, true strength from non‑violence, and genuine happiness from detachment. According to Sharma, Jainism teaches how to live a meaningful existence.
The CM pointed out that the 24 Tirthankaras have guided humanity through history and that the core tenet of Jainism—“Ahimsa Paramo Dharma”—provides a complete philosophy, especially vital when the world faces growing conflict.
He also stressed the importance of the Five Great Vows—non‑violence, truth, non‑stealing, celibacy, and non‑possession—in today’s consumer‑driven culture, reminding people that real joy comes from inner peace, not material wealth.
Sharma confirmed the state government’s commitment to promoting Jain values and supporting the development of pilgrimage sites, ensuring these locations receive road upgrades, clean water, sanitation, and security.
During the event, the Chief Minister was presented with the prestigious title of “Matri Bhu Sevak.” Earlier, he paid homage to all Jain monks, holding their hands as they marched from the Shri Adinath Temple at SFS Mansarovar to the Sanganer Camp Office, an arrival marked by grand welcomes, flower showers, and live music.
The gathering was attended by Acharya Shri Sundar Sagar Ji Maharaj, Acharya Shashank Ji Maharaj, Minister of State for Cooperation Shri Gautam Kumar Dak, Jaipur Greater Deputy Mayor Shri Puneet Karnawat, other Jain monks, and many devoted followers.
