Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy visited flood-affected Kamareddy district to assess the situation and promise help. Along with several ministers and local leaders, he inspected the damage caused by recent heavy rains and floods.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy spoke with farmers and residents impacted by the floods, assuring them that the government will support them through this tough time. He highlighted that this is the worst flood in 100 years and emphasized that relief efforts are already underway.
Revanth Reddy flew over the affected areas in a helicopter, getting a clear view of flooded lands and damaged crops. He also checked the condition of roads and infrastructure in Kamareddy town. Local officials explained the extent of destruction, including damage to roads, bridges, and irrigation projects.
The flood damaged many farms and flooded fields, washing away topsoil and sand. The Chief Minister praised the Pocharam irrigation project for holding up against the floods, helping to prevent greater losses. He directed officials to come up with plans for permanent solutions to prevent future flooding during heavy rains.
To help farmers, the government will allocate special funds to remove sand that washed into their fields. The CM also promised compensation for crop losses and asked officials to prepare detailed estimates for repairing damaged roads and infrastructure.
Revanth Reddy visited GR Colony, one of the worst-hit areas. He credited the quick response of local authorities for minimizing casualties and property damage. He assured residents that the government will do everything possible to support them, including providing new books to students who lost their supplies in the floods.
Other prominent leaders present included Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Panchayat Raj Minister Danasari Seethakka, MP Suresh Kumar Shetkar, Telangana Congress President B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, MLA Madan Mohan Rao, and government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir.
Overall, the Chief Minister’s visit aimed to assess the damage, coordinate relief efforts, and ensure long-term solutions to prevent similar disasters in the future. The Telangana government is committed to helping flood-affected residents and rebuilding their communities.
