PKL: Jaideep’s high-five earns Haryana Steelers 40-37 win over Gujarat Giants

Haryana Steelers Edge Out Gujarat Giants in Thrilling Pro Kabaddi League Match

In a nail-biting Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 12 clash, the Haryana Steelers grabbed a thrilling 40-37 win over the Gujarat Giants at Jaipur’s SMS Indoor Stadium. The defending champions showed grit and teamwork to seal the victory on Monday night.

Captain Jaideep Dahiya starred with a High Five, shutting down key raids for his team. Shivam Patare shone brightly, grabbing nine raid points and three tackles, while Vinay added eight crucial raid points. Haryana’s defense sealed the deal with five Super Tackles, making all the difference in this high-stakes PKL match.

For the Gujarat Giants, Rakesh Sungroya fought hard with a Super 10, racking up 14 points. But it wasn’t enough to turn the tide against the Steelers’ solid play.

The game kicked off with fire from both sides. Raiders like Vinay and Rakesh traded points early, but Shubham Kumar’s tackle on Shivam Patare’s Do-or-Die raid gave Gujarat a quick 2-0 lead. Rakesh kept the pressure on, scoring five points in just six minutes to push the Giants ahead.

Vinay fought back for Haryana, notching their first four points to keep things close. Then, Sahil Narwal’s Super Tackle sparked a comeback, cutting the gap to 7-6. Jaideep and Shivam joined in with their own Super Tackles, flipping the score in Haryana’s favor. Lucky Sharma pulled one back for Gujarat, but the first quarter ended 11-8 for the Giants.

Things heated up in the second quarter as Himanshu Singh backed Rakesh, who hit the milestone of 500 PKL raid points. Gujarat leveled it at 14-14 with Lucky Sharma’s tackle leading to an ALL OUT on Haryana.

Haryana bounced back fast. Shivam Patare’s strong raid run gave them a three-point edge, and they pushed it to five before hitting their own ALL OUT. The Steelers dominated the end of the half, leading 25-20.

Rakesh wrapped up his Super 10 in 12 raids to start the second half strong for Gujarat. Nitin Panwar’s tackle on Vinay kept them in the chase, and Rakesh narrowed it to three points. But every time Gujarat closed in, Haryana’s defense stepped up—Rahul Ahri with a Super Tackle and Jaideep finishing his High Five to hold a 32-27 lead.

Mohammadreza Shadloui got in on the action with a tackle on Shivam, and Himanshu’s effort tied it at 33-33 with eight minutes left. The crowd was on edge!

In the final stretch, Haryana stayed cool. Rahul Sethpal, Shivam Patare, and Sahil Narwal combined for key defensive stops, rebuilding a four-point lead with two minutes to go. Gujarat’s Shridhar Kadam raided for multiple points to make it a two-point game, but Haryana’s experience shone through. Vinay delivered the killer raids to lock in the win for the PKL champions.

This Pro Kabaddi League showdown in Jaipur proves why PKL season 12 is delivering non-stop excitement for fans!
