Censor Board clears Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’ with U/A certificate
Hyderabad, Nov 30 (LatestNewsX) – The Central Board of Film Certification has given director Boyapati Sreenu’s anticipated action drama Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, a U/A rating.
LatestNewsX previously reported that the film had passed its censor checks and was ready for release, clocking in at 166 minutes (2 hours 44 minutes).
Last Sunday the makers confirmed that the board had approved the film’s release under a U/A certificate.
On its X timeline, the production house 14 Reels Plus posted:
“U/A for #Akhanda2. The Thaandavam shall rule the world from December 5th. #Akhanda2 MASSIVE THAANDAVAM TEASER out now!”
The film is scheduled to hit theatres on December 5th.
The update follows the release of a fresh teaser on X, where the house shared links and added:
“Every frame, every shot shows THE DIVINE FURY. #Akhanda2 massive Thaandavam teaser out now. In cinemas worldwide on December 5th.”
In the teaser, India’s foes plan a strike against the nation’s foundations, and Balakrishna—costumed as a sadhu—urges, “Where there is a bad, parallely, there is a God! Be brave,” in his trademark style. The clip underscores the theme that Balakrishna’s character is empowered by a divine force, battling powerful sorcerers allied with the country’s enemies.
The visuals hint at the high‑octane action sequences that audiences can expect in Akhanda 2: Thaandavam.
Boyapati—known for crafting blockbusters—is helming the sequel, while Raam and Gopichand Achanta produce it under the 14 Reels Plus banner, with M Tejaswini Nandamuri presenting the project.
Sources say the film will be a grand spectacle, with Boyapati expanding his larger‑than‑life storytelling onto an even wider canvas.
S Thaman’s dynamic score is poised to amplify the film’s electrifying moments, delivering the adrenaline surge fans have come to expect from Balakrishna’s spirited avatar.
The cast also includes Samyuktha in the leading female role, Aadhi Pinisetty in a pivotal part, and Harshali Malhotra in an important character.
C. Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detakae manage cinematography, Tammiraju edits, and AS Prakash directs the art.
