Vantara welcomes SIT findings, Supreme Court’s order; says allegations made against its animal welfare mission without any basis

Vantara, the renowned animal rescue and rehabilitation centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat, has expressed deep relief and gratitude over the Supreme Court’s recent ruling. The centre welcomed the findings of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) appointed by the apex court, which cleared all doubts and allegations against its animal welfare mission.

In an official statement, Team Vantara shared that the SIT report and the court’s order prove these claims were baseless. “With utmost humility and gratitude, we welcome the findings of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), appointed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India,” the statement read. They called the validation a huge relief and a blessing, as it lets their dedicated work shine through without distractions.

The team added that this affirmation strengthens their resolve to keep serving animals and birds with compassion and devotion. “The entire Vantara family expresses heartfelt gratitude for this affirmation and reassures everyone of our lifelong commitment to protecting and caring for animals and birds with compassion,” they said.

At its core, Vantara stands for love, compassion, and responsibility toward the voiceless. “Every animal we rescue, every bird we heal, every life we save reminds us that their well-being ties directly to humanity’s own,” the statement emphasized. They also pledged to work closely with the Government of India, state governments, and other stakeholders to improve animal care across the country. “Let’s together make Mother Earth a better place for all living beings,” it concluded.

Earlier today, the Supreme Court made strong remarks while hearing a petition and reviewing the SIT’s report. A bench led by Justices Pankaj Mithal and Prasanna B. Varale stated that no one can raise unnecessary objections against Vantara if the centre follows all laws on animal acquisition and treatment. “There are certain things in India that we take pride in, and we shouldn’t create a hue and cry over everything. Allow good things to happen in the country also. We should be happy about such initiatives,” the court observed.

This development highlights Vantara’s vital role in India’s animal welfare efforts, boosting confidence in ethical rescue and rehabilitation centres nationwide.
