
New Delhi, Nov 6 – Former India test star Shahbaz Nadeem said the national T20 team is full of talent and will no doubt deliver strong results.
India’s T20 World Cup 2026 preparations are already in full swing. The cricket board is experimenting with different line‑ups as the current squad tours Australia to pinpoint the best combination.
Speaking to about the tour, Nadeem praised the young side. “The players are talented,” he said. “They’re still learning the Australian conditions, and many are playing their first T20s there. But the experience will help them in the World Cup.”
The former all‑rounder added that the Indian Premier League gives overseas participants insight into local pitches. “After playing in the IPL, most of the players will understand India’s playing conditions,” he explained. “Success will come from how they execute game plans on the day.”
When asked which teams might dominate the 2026 championship, Nadeem highlighted India’s advantage. “Most of the players are gaining experience in the IPL and on Indian soil,” he noted. “It’s a level playing field. The key is consistent execution.” He placed India, Sri Lanka, Australia, and either New Zealand or England among the top contenders.
The T20 World Cup opens on 7 February in India and Sri Lanka, with the final match slated for 8 March. The tournament will bring together the world’s best T20 teams and test India’s young talent on home turf.
