Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has a big day ahead for farmers. On Wednesday, he’ll transfer a whopping Rs 337.12 crores in bonuses straight to the bank accounts of 6.69 lakh farmers. The event kicks off at a state-level program in Katangi, Balaghat district, helping boost support for those who sell their paddy at the minimum support price, or MSP.
Yadav announced earlier that farmers get Rs 4,000 per hectare as a bonus, capped at Rs 10,000 per person. In Balaghat alone, more than one lakh farmers stand to gain from this scheme. The whole transfer happens with just one click at the Krishi Upaj Mandi in Katangi, the district’s tehsil headquarters, making it quick and easy for everyone.
But that’s not all for the day. Yadav will hand out appointment letters to 4,315 young people, giving them a fresh start in jobs. He’ll also kick off or lay foundation stones for 75 development projects in the area, totaling Rs 244 crore to improve local infrastructure and growth.
Shifting gears to health and wellness, Yadav joined a lively state event on Tuesday at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium in Bhopal to mark the 10th National Ayurveda Day. He shared how sticking to Ayurveda’s timeless principles can bring the true meaning of Ayushman Bhav—long, healthy lives for all.
In Indian culture, he pointed out, good health tops the list of blessings. Our ancestors called it Aarogyam Paramam Bhagyam, the greatest fortune. They ranked a healthy body as the first of seven joys and gifted the world Yoga and Ayurveda to keep illnesses at bay through smart daily habits. “Follow Ayurveda, and you’ll feel those blessings in action,” Yadav said.
To push wellness further, the AYUSH department—covering Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy—signed a key Memorandum of Understanding with the Tourism Department. This partnership aims to spotlight Madhya Pradesh as a hotspot for health tourism, drawing visitors for rejuvenating experiences.
Yadav opened up about his own life too. He’s a big believer in Ayurveda, crediting it for keeping him free from common issues like high blood pressure and diabetes. This lets him stay energetic and focused on serving the public. He urged everyone to weave Ayurvedic routines into their days for better well-being.
