Gujarat CM pushes new vision, regional conferences for inclusive growth
Ahmedabad – Dec 12 (LatestNewsX) – The Prime Minister Narendra Modi‑launched Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, which took off in 2003, has been a catalyst for Gujarat’s growth. Now, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is guiding the state toward a more detailed, region‑by‑region model of development.
This shift is embodied in the new Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences (VGRC), designed to highlight the distinctive strengths and sectoral prospects of each area and help ensure that progress reaches every part of the state. Under the four‑region strategy, the Saurashtra‑Kutch edition will convene in Rajkot from Jan 10‑12 2026.
To build awareness of the upcoming event and bring in global partners, Gujarat officials held a dialogue in New Delhi on Dec 12. Diplomats and representatives from more than 20 countries—including Russia, Canada, Israel, Singapore, the UAE, Finland, and South Africa—joined the discussion.
The exchange focused on the VGRC theme, “Regional Aspirations, Global Ambitions,” and underscored Gujarat’s drive for a inclusive, innovative, and sustainable economic ecosystem. Highlights of potential collaboration spanned fisheries, ports, the Dholera Special Investment Region, and tourism, with detailed talks on B2B opportunities, partnership benefits, and logistical support for foreign participants.
Participants also revisited the success story of North Gujarat’s inaugural VGRC in Mehsana, which secured investment Memoranda of Understanding worth Rs 3.24 lakh crore. Senior officials from the Government of India’s DPIIT, the Union Fisheries Department, Invest India, and key Gujarat departments—Industries & Mines, Tourism, Maritime Board, and Dholera SIR—were in attendance.
With growing international interest and a renewed focus on regional strengths, VGRC is poised to become Gujarat’s next strategic leap, translating the state’s “Gateway to the Future” promise from global corridors to vibrant, localized growth centres.
Vibrant Gujarat originally emerged as an ambitious investment summit aimed at rebuilding the state’s economy after the 2001 earthquake and establishing Gujarat as a global business hub. Over the years, it has evolved into India’s most influential economic summit, drawing heads of state, multinational CEOs, global policymakers, and major investors. Each edition has broadened in scope, concentrating on manufacturing, renewable energy, innovation, logistics, and startups, while positioning Gujarat as a bastion of stability, policy clarity, and ease of doing business. Today, after two decades of momentum, Vibrant Gujarat stands as a globally recognized platform that shapes India’s economic diplomacy and long‑term development vision.
