Pratik Gandhi to ‘first friend in England’ Tom Felton: Can’t wait to have you in India

Pratik Gandhi, the talented Bollywood actor known for his roles in films like Scam 1992, just shared a heartwarming moment from the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). He revealed that Harry Potter star Tom Felton is his very first friend in England, and he’s super excited to host the British actor in India soon!

The fun started when Tom Felton posted on Instagram. He shared three cool photos from the red carpet at TIFF, where he posed with Pratik Gandhi, director Hansal Mehta, Pratik’s wife Bhamini Oza, and veteran actor Kabir Bedi. This was all for the premiere of their upcoming series Gandhi, which got a massive standing ovation from the crowd.

In the series, Tom Felton plays Josiah Oldfield, a key character. He captioned his post: "To my brother in arms @pratikgandhiofficial – the cast & crew that made this happen – what an honour it was to premiere ‘Gandhi’ at @tiff_net to a standing ovation this weekend – @hansalmehta #gandhi." It’s clear these two bonded big time during the making of the show!

Pratik jumped into the comments with his reply: "Cheers to my first friend in England, the innocent, emotional and funny @t22felton. Can’t wait to have you in India." Fans are loving this bromance between the Harry Potter alum and the rising Indian star!

Adding to the buzz, music maestro A.R. Rahman, who scored the Gandhi series, also shared a fun selfie with Tom Felton on Instagram. The picture had a cheeky overlay saying "With Draco" – a nod to Felton’s iconic role as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies. Rahman wrote: "@t22felton is a major part of the #Gandhi series I am scoring which premiered Yesterday at @tiff_net @hansalmehta @applausesocial @pratikgandhiofficial." It’s awesome to see such global talent coming together for this project!

So, what’s Gandhi all about? This exciting series dives into the life of Mahatma Gandhi, inspired by historian Ramachandra Guha’s books Gandhi Before India and Gandhi: The Years That Changed the World. Produced by Applause Entertainment, it will run for three seasons. The first season, wrapping up shooting in August 2024, covers Gandhi’s early years from 1888 to 1915. It shows him as a curious teen in colonial India, a shy law student in London, and a young lawyer facing big changes during 23 transformative years in South Africa.

With stars like Pratik Gandhi leading the cast and big names like Tom Felton and A.R. Rahman involved, the Gandhi series is already generating huge hype. Keep an eye out for its release – it’s set to be a must-watch for fans of historical dramas and Bollywood-Hollywood crossovers!
