Yami Gautam to husband Aditya Dhar and team: You are Dhurandhars in your own might
Mumbai, Dec 5 – Bollywood actress Yami Gautam took to Instagram on Friday to send an emotional note to her husband, director Aditya Dhar, and the crew behind her new film Dhurandhar. In the post she praised the team as “some of the hardest working & gem of people that I know & proud to call them my family” and highlighted the dedication they’ve poured into the project.
Her caption read:
“And it’s DHURANDHAR DAY today !!!! Some of the hardest working & gem of people that I know & proud to call them my family !!! You have given all your heart, devotion, dedication , intent, passion , sweat , blood , tears (which you never show) to this film, Aditya !!!”
Yami went on to say that “Too many emotions running today, many hearts beating together ! You guys are Dhurandhars in your own might. DHURANDHAR is not a parting gift of 2025 but is here to welcome 2026 for all of us across the globe. Ab yeh aapki film hai, audience. Jai Hind.”
Dhurandhar stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan and follows a gritty underworld narrative inspired by real events. The storyline loosely mirrors Operation Lyari—a government‑led crackdown on crime syndicates in Karachi’s Lyari district—and blends action, dramatic betrayal and spycraft against a backdrop of Indian patriotism.
The same actress recently appeared in Haq, directed by Suparn Verma and featuring Emraan Hashmi and Sheeba Chaddha. The film draws from the landmark Supreme Court case Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum—which dealt with marital disputes in Muslim families—and incorporates material from journalist Jigna Vora’s book Bano: Bharat ki Beti. Haq explores the journey of Bano, a woman seeking legal redress after her husband marries his cousin, and examines how courts interpret women’s rights under religious and civil law.
