Eric Adams parties with Denise Rich at private club after dropping out of mayoral race

Eric Adams, New York City’s mayor, kicked off the final stretch of his term with a familiar vibe—partying at an exclusive club. Just a day after announcing he won’t run for re-election amid mounting pressure, Adams showed up at the upscale Twenty Two club in Manhattan on Monday night.
He joined Denise Rich’s launch party for the Angel Ball, the big fundraiser for her Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research. Guests couldn’t get enough of him. “People wanted pictures with him. They were genuinely happy to see him,” one insider shared.
Adams grabbed dinner at the club’s restaurant before heading upstairs to mingle with Rich and a star-studded group. The crowd included TV personality Star Jones, music exec Mona Scott-Young, DJ Timo, jewelry designer Simone Smith, and crypto entrepreneur Brock Pierce—who happened to be chatting about the NYC mayoral race right before Adams arrived. Other notables on hand: Fer da Silva, Real Housewives star Ramona Singer, and skincare mogul Peter Thomas Roth.
This isn’t Adams’ first time rubbing elbows at Rich’s events. He’s become a fixture at the annual Angel Ball galas. Back in 2022, he stuck around until the very end, dancing to sets by Chaka Khan and Fat Joe, then hitting an afterparty with DJ Cassidy spinning tracks. That year, another regular, Nikki Haskell, noted how well-connected Adams seemed at spots like Zero Bond: “I’ve never met him and I know all the mayors! But I’ve seen him there, and he knows everyone’s name.”
In 2023, Adams drew huge cheers during a speech at the gala, where he spoke about “our beloved Israel” just two weeks after the October 7 attacks. He sat out last year’s event, though, while facing a federal indictment that got tossed out earlier this year.
The main Angel Ball is set for October 27 at Cipriani Wall Street. Gayle King steps in as host, saluting honorees like Tina Knowles, Skye and Don Rufus Hankey, and Amy Green, founder of the Green Vision Foundation. If Adams’ track record holds, he might just show up to keep the party going.
