Bihar Minister launches programme to resolve land disputes, directs officials to work sincerely

Patna – Dec 12 (LatestNewsX) – At his own home in Patna, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha inaugurated the “Land Reform Public Welfare Dialogue” programme. Throughout the session he listened to citizens’ land‑related complaints and settled many cases immediately. Each patron was handed a microphone and asked to explain their problem, after which Sinha called the local Circle Officer (CO) and other revenue staff, passed them the mic, and awaited their response. When a revenue officer started shaking as one complainant described his plight, Sinha confronted the CO, asking why the work was still pending and whether he was aware of the issue. The officer’s tremor deepened, prompting Sinha to reassure him, “Don’t be afraid, don’t be scared. Why are you trembling? Go ahead, but listen closely—I’m telling all revenue staff and COs to get moving. I’ve given you 15 days; the next time we meet, we won’t allow a lapse.” He then instructed the officials, “Process the applications within a week, or else consequences will follow. You’re supposed to uphold the department’s and government’s reputation, yet people still complain about delays. This individual has been shuttling from office to office for five years—complete his work within a week.” COs, Sub‑Divisional Magistrates, revenue employees from Patna district, and other officials were in attendance. Addressing the public, Sinha announced that such dialogues will now take place in every district, prioritising all land‑related matters—mutation, revision, measurement, encroachment, disputes and portal complaints. He urged people first to file their grievances with the zonal, police station, subdivision and district magistrate authorities. “If the matter remains unresolved at these levels, it will be taken up at the ministerial level,” he assured. ajk/uk
