‘Slender Man’ stabber Morgan Geyser could be sent back to a mental institution after escaping Wisconsin group home
Morgan Geyser, who gained notoriety for stabbing a classmate in the “Slender Man” hoax incident back in 2014, could be sent back to a psychiatric facility after state officials requested a court revoke her conditional release. The move followed her escape from a Wisconsin group home just last week. In Waukesha County, a judge agreed to keep the Department of Corrections’ petition sealed.
Geyser didn’t contest her extradition when she appeared in a Chicago courtroom on Tuesday. Authorities now have 30 days to bring her back to Wisconsin.
She fled the Madison group home on Saturday, snipping her ankle monitor with scissors and leaving with her transgender friend, Chad “Charly” Mecca. The pair were apprehended the following night in Posen, Illinois, roughly 170 miles from the facility.
If her conditional release is revoked, Geyser will likely be returned to Winnebago mental institution, where she has spent most of the past eight years. She may also face new charges related to her escape.
