BJP lawmakers met Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday to urge that the graduate‑level exam held by UKSSSC be annulled in the best interest of students. The group, which met at the state Secretariat in Dehradun, also thanked Dhami for creating more than 25,000 government jobs and for ordering a CBI probe into the recent paper‑leak scandal.
The delegation, made up of eight BJP MLAs—Khajan Das, Dilip Singh Rawat, Vinod Kandari, Brij Bhushan Gairola, Durgeshwar Lal, Suresh Chauhan, Mohan Bisht and Renu Bisht—took the opportunity to convey the concerns of students across the state. In a memorandum signed on their behalf, they requested that the exam itself be cancelled and that any future assessment be handled with greater transparency.
“Dhami has already taken steps by offering jobs to more than 25,000 candidates and by scheduling a CBI investigation,” said MLA Khajan Das after the meeting. “Our priority is the students’ future and we want to clear any doubts they have about the fairness of the process.” The delegation applauded the CM’s decision to keep students in mind, especially after the exam’s papers were leaked and the ministry announced a Self‑Investigation Team (SIT) and later the CBI probe.
Durgeshwar Lal added that the leaders had spoken directly to families and students in their constituencies, noting that the government’s actions should assuage any worries about the integrity of the exam. They urged Dhami to cancel the recent test in order to protect the hard work of the students who had prepared for it.
The call for cancellation comes as the state tries to rebuild trust after the paper‑leak controversy that shook the education system. The BJP delegation’s appeal underscores the urgency of transparent exam procedures and the need for reliable national board registration. The outcome will affect thousands of candidates in Uttarakhand who were planning to take the UKSSSC graduate exam.
