Dubai, UAE – The Real Kabaddi League (RKL) is taking Indian Kabaddi to the world stage with its first international edition set for December 2025 in Dubai. This exciting move aims to spotlight grassroots talent and turn the traditional Indian sport into a global hit.
RKL has built a strong reputation in India since Shubham Chaudhary founded it. The league focuses on discovering and nurturing players from rural areas and small towns. Now, it’s expanding beyond borders while keeping its roots in India’s vibrant Kabaddi scene.
Rannvijay Singha, a popular TV host and sports fan, serves as league ambassador and co-founder. He’s been involved from the start and uses his fame to boost RKL’s reach. “Kabaddi, India’s indigenous sport, has all the ingredients to be a global powerhouse,” Singha said. “We’re helping it claim its spot with this international edition in Dubai.”
Adding star power, famous Kabaddi player Rahul Chaudhari joins as the league’s Kabaddi Ambassador. The Pro Kabaddi League icon bridges the world of young talents and top pros. “Kabaddi gave me everything – identity, respect, and love from fans,” Chaudhari shared. “RKL offers hidden gems a real shot to shine. Bringing our village sport to Dubai’s global stage is a game-changer, and I’m thrilled to be part of it.”
RKL also has powerful backers. Abhishek Verma, Chief National Coordinator for the Shiv Sena-NDA alliance, is the Chief Indian Patron. “Kabaddi represents India’s pride, culture, resilience, and teamwork,” he said. “Through RKL, we’re empowering young players and sharing our sports spirit worldwide.”
On the global side, Emirati business leader Rashid Al Habtoor is Chief Global Patron. “It’s an honor to back RKL and bring this amazing sport to Dubai and beyond,” he noted. “Kabaddi can unite cultures, inspire kids, and become a true international game.”
This Dubai event follows a successful exhibition match backed by the Dubai Sports Council. It marks RKL’s bold step to fill a gap in the global sports world. Founder Shubham Chaudhary called it more than a tournament – it’s a movement. “We’re empowering grassroots talent and giving Kabaddi the global recognition it deserves,” he explained. “Our vision celebrates India’s indigenous sports traditions, highlighting resilience, teamwork, and strength.”
The 2025 edition features teams from five nations: India, Iran, Bangladesh, UAE, and Australia. They’ll battle it out in a top-notch indoor arena in Dubai. Expect high-energy matches, cutting-edge production, live entertainment, and fan-friendly vibes to draw crowds from South Asia, the Middle East, and farther afield. This blend of sport, culture, and fun could make Kabaddi the next big thing on the world stage.
