Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Patna on Sunday for a high‑energy roadshow that drew huge crowds and large numbers of women supporters. The event was staged just days before the Bihar assembly elections on November 6‑11, giving the ruling coalition, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), a powerful boost.
Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal called the turnout “one of the biggest political gatherings the state has seen.” He said the enthusiastic crowds showed that voters wanted to keep the “Jungle Raj” of the RJD‑led alliance out of power. “PM Modi urged people to reject that vision,” Jaiswal added.
Former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad described the rally as historic, noting that “lakhs of women were there, performing aarti and showering flowers.” He said the PM’s popularity crossed party lines and reached across households in Bihar.
Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) echoed this sentiment, saying that women cheering from rooftops demonstrated Modi’s broad appeal. He praised the rally’s size as proof of NDA strength.
The Prime Minister travelled in a flower‑decorated motorcade that took a route packed with supporters. People lined streets, perched on rooftops, and chanted “Modi‑Modi” as the convoy passed. Key NDA leaders, including Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ram Kripal Yadav, and local MLA Nitin Nabin, joined the march.
After the roadshow, Modi planned to visit the Takht Shri Harimandir Gurudwara in Patna City for prayers, keeping the mood upbeat and reverent.
Observers said the show’s scale could sway voters in Patna’s precincts. BJP workers said the presence of senior alliance leaders sent a clear message of unity to Bihar’s electorate. As the state heads to the polls, the Modi rally may shift the public sentiment toward the ruling coalition.
