Police in Alwar have cracked down on a shocking illegal religious conversion racket operating from a hostel in Udyog Nagar. Authorities arrested two people who were allegedly deceiving poor children by offering them free education and shelter, only to convert them to a different religion.
The Alwar police received a tip about strange activities at a hostel called Friends Missionary Prayer Band in Sayyat Colony, Goleta. Acting on this tip, police raided the hostel and made some startling discoveries. They found children being taught Christianity and exposed to derogatory lessons targeting their original religions like Hinduism and Sikhism.
During the raid, police seized important records, technical evidence, and even recorded secret interviews with the children in plain clothes. The investigation showed that vulnerable children from poor families were being lured with promises of free schooling and accommodation, only to be manipulated into religious conversions.
The two men arrested are Bodhar Amrit, 44, from Gujarat’s Chitkoda Himmatnagar, and Sohan Singh, 34, from Bandholi in Alwar’s Ramgarh area. Both are accused of actively participating in the conversion activities. Police found out that the hostel was run by a Chennai-based organization called Friends Missionary Prayer Band (FMPB).
Interestingly, several individuals linked to the same organization—including Gujarat’s Selvam, Malkit Singh from Bandholi, Satish from Govindgarh, and Bodhar Amrit—had been arrested earlier along with 14 others in similar cases. Many of them are out on bail now. The police clarified that this operation was carried out by local agencies, with no involvement from central authorities.
Citizens are urged to share any information about illegal religious conversions via WhatsApp at 8764502201. The authorities promise to keep all tips confidential. The operation was led by a special police team, supervised by ASP Kamlesh Sharan Gopinath and CO Ramgarh Sunil Prasad Sharma, with ground support from Udyog Nagar SHO Ajit Singh Badsara.
This crackdown aims to stop the illegal practice of converting vulnerable children and protect their religious freedom. Stay alert and report suspicious activities to help keep communities safe.
