Gaurav Gera reveals a unique photo-clicking trick from the set of ‘Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin’ on it’s 22nd anniversary
It’s been 22 years since the hit Indian TV show “Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi” first aired, but fans still remember it fondly. The show became a household favorite and is considered one of the most iconic shows in Indian television history.
Actor Gaurav Gera, who played a key role in the show, recently shared nostalgic behind-the-scenes photos and videos. He explained that back then, there were no selfies or modern camera phones, so some pictures were taken by turning the phone around to capture moments of Jassi, played by Mona Singh. He wrote, “More pics from #JJKN Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. It was released on September 1, 2003, created by @djsacreativeunit and aired on @sonytvofficial. No frontal cameras, no selfies back then.”
Speaking of Mona Singh, she became a household name as Jassi. Recently, Mona shared some rare vintage photos from the show’s set, reminiscing about those times. She captioned her post, “Hello Sept… 22 years of ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’ — cherishing the memories and forever grateful for all the love.”
The show debuted on September 1, 2003, and introduced Mona Singh as Jasmeet Walia, aka Jassi. Her look was very distinctive—big braces and heavy glasses—raising many questions about whether her appearance was her real one. Mona revealed that the production carefully kept her real look hidden from the public and media to keep the mystery alive and to make Jassi’s character more intriguing.
